To say that our Monaldesco rosé has an ancient tradition would be a useless exaggeration.
This wine tries to express fresh and persistent aromas through the quick vinification of Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes.
Monaldesco is made to give a cheerful, carefree perception of a wine for summer occasions.
Rosé color of medium intensity, fruity aromas of rose and pomegranate, with light citrus notes. In the mouth it is fresh, with a round, harmonious tannic structure.
CHARACTERISTIC
Soil: Hill of volcanic origin, at 280-330 m elevation, west exposure.
Grape varieties: Sangiovese (65%), Cabernet Sauvignon (35%)
Vineyard age: 5 to 15 years +
Density: 3000 vines per hectare
Yield: 6000-7000 kg grapes/ha.
Training system: Rammed cordon
VINIFICATION
Cold. Controlled temperature, after 10 hours in contact with the skins.
PAIRINGS
Ideal as an aperitif and for accompany cold dishes, especially those with red sauces.
ORIGIN OF THE NAME
It takes its name from one of the ruling families in the area during the period of the medieval communes.
